Confidentiality and limitations

IP is a diagnostic tool. It displays the information needed to understand how a connection is viewed from the Internet.

Confidentiality

  • the service does not request an account
  • the results displayed are related to the current connection
  • the geolocation data are approximate
  • browser information may vary depending on the protections enabled

Limits

GeoIP, ASN, proxy, VPN or Tor databases are never perfect. A result must be interpreted as a technical index, not as absolute certainty.
